Venturers Trust is a dynamic and focused multi-academy trust based in Bristol, formed in September 2017 through the merger of CGS Trust and Merchants’ Academy Trust. The Trust is responsible for eight academies, 3,500 pupils and 750 staff with a commitment to making a significant and lifelong difference to the lives of young people from some of Bristol’s most disadvantaged communities.

We are seeking to appoint a Pastoral Lead who is able to engage with students and young people by removing barriers to learning in order to promote effective participation, enhance individual learning and raise aspirations. 

Applications are invited from positive, solution focused, driven candidates to join Kingfisher School as Pastoral Lead. The role involves leading on the strategic overview of behaviour across the primary phase, reporting to the Senior Leadership Team on any trends or gaps to then be able to remove those barriers to improve attendance and low-level behaviours.

You will:

• Be educated to a high standard with equivalent of GCSE Grade C in English and Maths.

• NVQ3 in teaching and learning /equivalent qualification. 

• Qualification in counselling or a willingness to complete the course within two years.

• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle

• Communicate and relate to students to enable you to build effective working relationships

• Have a proven track record of supporting students in a learning environment 

• Ability to communicate and relate to staff, students and parents alike.

• Effective use of ICT and technology.
