2019/2020 Parent/Carer Announcements
Reception Class Baking:
Dear Parents and Carers of Reception class children, we are planning to bake some bread on Thursday 21st November. If you have any dietary or allergy concerns please speak to the class teacher.
School start time:
Please be reminded that children must be in school at 8.40am. Children arriving late will miss vital learning in the classroom. Please ensure that children arrive on time.
Please be aware that school will be closed to children on Friday 22nd and Monday 25th November for staff training.
Celebration assembly will take place on Thursday 21st November at 9am - as usual you will be contacted by telephone (on Wednesday) if your child is to receive an award.
Cake Sale Friday 15th November:
Thanks to everyone who has so far donated cakes for the sale this afternoon. Cakes will be sold in the hall (unless the weather clears up!) so please make your way to the hall, at pick up time, where our School Learning Council will be ready to take your money to donate to Children in Need.
Years 5/6 Trip - Wednesday 13th November:
Dear Parents and Carers, due to the timing of the forthcoming trip packed lunches will be provided if you have booked a school dinner. If your child prefers a lunch from home please send one in.
Years N - 2 Christmas cake bake:
Just a reminder that reply slips and £1 for ingredients need to be returned by 13th November.
Dear Parents and Carers, if you would like to join our Parents, Teachers and Friends Association we are holding the next meeting at 3.20 on Wednesday 13th November. These voluntary roles are key to our school life and you help to raise much needed funds to buy equipment for our children.
Dear Parents and Carers, as you know a general election has been called for 12th December 2019.
Our building is a designated polling station. A decision has been taken that the school will be closed to children on this day. This decision has been taken for reasons of safeguarding.
The Key Stage 1 Nativity will now take place on Friday 13th December at the same time.
The school calendar has been updated to reflect this.
Important information required:
It is essential that we have valid contact details for your child. We are now required to keep 3 contact records on our system. In case of emergency we must have up to date details for you or another contact. Please provide contact details to the school office.
Reception Class and Year 7 applications:
For Parents and Carers of children in Nursery or Year 6 -
Now is the time to apply for Reception or Year 7 to start in September 2020.
- If your child was born between 1 September 2015 and 31 August 2016 you need to apply for a new Reception school place to your home local authority by 15th January 2020
- If your child is in Year 6 you need to apply for a Year 7 place by 31st October 2019
Please ask at the school office if you would like any further help or advice.
Dear Parents and Carers, please check your child's jumper or cardigan to make sure that you have the correct item. Please bring any items not belonging to your child to the school office so that we can unite them with their rightful owner.
Lunch bookings for Terms 2 and 3:
Dear Parents and Carers, the new menu has now been published for Terms 2 and 3 so meal bookings can now be made in advance.
Please remember to book your child's lunches for the coming week. New menu will appear shortly to start after half term.
Parents' Evening Appointments:
Dear Parents and Carers, we are now booking appointments for Parents' Evening.
Nursery: Tuesday 22nd October - afternoon and evening appointments available
Years R - 6:
Tuesday 22nd October - 4.30pm - 7pm
Wednesday 23rd October - 3.30pm - 5.30pm

Dear Parents and Carers, if you would like to buy your child's school photo using the envelope provided, please return to the office by Friday 11th October.
Dear Parents and Carers, there are a number of cases of headlice within the school. Please can you check your child's hair and treat with the appropriate medication, repeating as directed on the packaging or by the pharmacist.
Dear Parents and Carers, just to clarify that school photos will take place on Wednesday 2nd October.
We are still welcoming donations for the Harvest collection. Please bring dried and tinned foods to the office by Monday 30th September.
Years 5 and 6 Camp Photo Show:
Parents and carers are invited to see all the pictures taken on this year's camp. Please come to the school office on 1st October 2019 just before 3.30pm for the show!
Parents and Carers are reminded that all meals must be booked on Parent Pay. If you need a reminder of your login please contact the school office. A missed booking may mean that your child does not get their choice of meal.
Years 5 and 6 Swimming:
Parents are reminded that children return from swimming later than the usual school day - depending on traffic we can expect them to return at around 3.40pm.
Year 7 Applications for September 2020:
Parents of Year 6 children can now apply for their Year 7 place. Apply online through the Bristol City Council website:
The last date for applications is 31st October 2019.

If your child was born between 1 September 2015 and 31 August 2016 you need to apply for a new reception school place to your home local authority.
We will be holding our annual Harvest Festival assembly on 1st October. We will be collecting food and toiletries for donation to the Trussell Food bank. Items needed are:
Tinned vegetarian meals,
Tinned meat or fish
Long life milk
Long life fruit juice
Tinned vegetables and beans
Tinned rice pudding
